Creating an account

Registration is quick, but three of its steps decide whether your account is safe for life. Do them properly the first time.

Step by step

  1. Open a verified link. Copy an address from the working links and confirm it against the login header.
  2. Choose a fresh username. One you have never used anywhere. A reused handle links this account to your clearnet trail.
  3. Generate a unique password. Let your password manager make and store it. Never reuse a password.
  4. Save the recovery mnemonic. The market shows a recovery phrase once. Write it on paper and store it offline; it is the only way back if you lose the password.
  5. Enable PGP 2FA. Turn on PGP two-factor immediately so a stolen password alone cannot open your account.
Remember
No genuine registration or login ever asks you to re-enter the recovery mnemonic to sign in. A page that does is a phishing clone.
