Using Tor Browser

Tor Browser is all most people need. It bundles the Tor client with a hardened browser, so an onion link simply opens.

Three steps

Download from the source. Only from torproject.org. Verify the signature on first install.
Set Safest. Open the shield menu, choose Safest. This disables scripts and removes a whole class of risk. Zion works fine at Safest.
Open a verified link. Paste an address from the working links; never type it. Check the login header against your bar.

Careful

If the market ever tells you to "update Tor" via a link on the page, ignore it. Updates come only from Tor Browser itself and the Tor Project site.
