Using bridges where Tor is blocked

Some networks block access to Tor itself. Bridges are unlisted entry relays that make your connection look like ordinary traffic, so you can still connect where plain Tor is filtered.

How to use them

1. In Tor Browser's connection settings, choose to use a bridge.
2. Prefer a built-in obfs4 bridge first; it disguises the traffic pattern.
3. If built-in bridges are also blocked, request bridge addresses from the Tor Project's bridge service and enter them manually.

Once Tor connects through a bridge, everything else in this handbook works exactly the same. Bridges only change how you reach the Tor network, not what you do once you are on it.
